About Christine Haworth
Christine Haworth was born in Blackburn in Lancashire, England and has been drawing and painting since early childhood. She attended Wolverhampton College of Art and gained her degree in illustration.
She worked on a freelance basis for several years, both as an illustrator and as a figurative artist. Christine held many one-woman exhibitions in the late 1970's and 1980's, which were very successful.
In 1993 she designed the Isle of Man Christmas Stamps and in the same year branched out into the gift industry.
Her incredibly successful licensed ranges include Paintbox Poppets, Faerie Poppets, Crisalis Classics, Dream Tide and more recently Angel Whispers. These have been produced in many forms including figurines, greeting cards, dolls, mugs, plates and more recently a very exciting new addition decoupage with a company in the Netherlands.
Her subjects are imaginative and nostalgic and she was chosen to design the costumes for the Covent Garden Royal Ballet's 'Cinderella' choreography by Sir Fredrick Ashton that was staged in December 2003. This is a great honour and a dream come true, as Christine has always been interested in ballet from early childhood.
Christine is very much in the fore with her own on-line website promoting her licensed products. The Crisalis Collectors Club has been selling her licensed artwork for many years to a world-wide market.
